NCWTS: John Hunter Nemechek Victorious in the Windy City

John Hunter Nemechek captured his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory at the Chicagoland Speedway on Saturday morning by capitalizing on other teams running out of fuel. Nemechek will become the 10th different winner in the Camping World Truck Series in 2015. The young driver led only two laps that ended up being the most important lap of the day.

Tyler Reddick will leave the 1.5-mile oval with a runner-up finish behind the wheel of the No. 19 Ford. Reddick, coming into the weekend looking to bounce back in the points standings, started in the fourth-place position when the green flag waved on Saturday morning. The 19-year old bounced back after being black-flagged later in the event for possibly leaking fluid out onto the track.

Timothy Peters led the field for a total of 41 laps in his No. 17 Red Horse Racing Toyota. Peters started the morning in the fifth starting position when the green flag waved to the 32-truck field. The North Carolina native will leave the 1.5-mile oval with his third top five finish of the year after bringing home a third-place finish.

Johnny Sauter had one of the strongest trucks all throughout the 150-lap event as he led 52 of those laps. Sauter started the morning in the third starting position and stayed upfront all morning long. The Wisconsin driver now has six top five and 12 top 10 finishes here in 2015.

Erik Jones will leave the Chicagoland Speedway with a 10-point lead over Tyler Reddick in the series point’s standings. Matt Crafton will sit in the third spot looking 11 points behind Jones. Johnny Sauter and Daniel Hemric will round out the top five.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will move on to Loudon for the UNOH 175. Fans can watch the event live on FOX Sports 1 at 1:00 p.m. ET. on Saturday. The Motor Racing Network will carry the live radio broadcast.
