German Quiorga Red Horse Racing: Gateway Race Advance

This Week’s NET10 Wireless Toyota Tundra at Gateway Motorsports Park… German Quiroga will be driving chassis 003 in the Drivin’ for Linemen 200 at Gateway Motorsports Park on Friday, June 14. This is the same Toyota Tundra that Brian Ickler drove to a top-10 finish at Martinsville Speedway earlier this season.

Quiroga at Gateway Motorsports Park… This will be the Mexico City native’s first visit to Gateway Motorsports Park. The three-time NASCAR Toyota Series Mexico Champion has earned five top-10 finishes this season, and is currently sixth in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series point standings, 32 points out of the lead.

Karting with the Media… Quiroga will be participating in a karting event with local media at Gateway Motorsports Park on Friday, June 13, at 8:30 p.m. Central Time.

Race Rewind: Texas Motor Speedway… Quiroga returned to Texas Motor Speedway, home of his first top-five finish in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, eager to capture the checkered flag. The Mexico City native led the final practice session and qualified eighth in his NET10 Wireless Toyota Tundra. Once the green flag dropped he was running consistently in the top-10, but his engine expired on lap 54, ending his night early and giving him a 23rd-place finish.

GERMÁN QUIROGA QUOTES:

On heading to Gateway Motorsports Park… “I’m looking forward to racing at Gateway Motorsports Park. Even though it’s a new track for me, it reminds me a lot of the tracks I raced at in the NASCAR Toyota Series Mexico. Hopefully I can apply some of that knowledge as well as my crew chief, Butch Hylton’s, experience at Gateway to do well there.”

On making up lost ground at Gateway Motorsports Park… “We’re not as close to the points leader as we’d like to be after our race at Texas [Motor Speedway] but we’ll keep doing what we’ve been doing all season, which is focusing on the big picture. Our goal is to be fighting for a championship at the end of the season, so we need to have consistent finishes each weekend and that’s what we plan to do at Gateway.”
