Ross Chastain Talladega Post-Race Report

Ross Chastain (@RossChastain), driver of the No. 19 Carbon Forged Reese Towpower Advance Auto Parts Ford F-150, made his 11th start for Brad Keselowski Racing (BKR) Saturday afternoon at Talladega Superspeedway.

After a 7th place start, Chastain maneuvered his way up to the third spot by lap 7 when the first caution of the day fell for fluid on the track.

Chastain maintained a top 10 position in the early stages of the race. At lap 32, Chastain and teammate Blaney hooked up to rocket Chastain to the lead.

A series of caution flags and excellent drafting skills of Chastain put the No. 19 Reese Towpower Carbon Forged Advance Auto Parts Ford F-150 into the lead for the closing stages of the race.

Leading at the white flag, Chastain looked strong coming to the checkered until a huge wreck eliminated the 19 team’s chances at victory, crossing the finish line in the third position.

The No. 19 BKR team currently sits third in the NCWTS owner points standings, 50 points back from first.

“It was certainly a frustrating finish for all of us on the No. 19 Reese Towpower team. Leading at the white flag and not bringing home the trophy is never satisfying. I want to thank Brad Keselowski for the opportunity, looking forward to getting to Martinsville next Saturday hopefully we can bring him a win next weekend.” – Ross Chastain
