Jennings to make 1st Chicagoland start with MB Motorsports

Justin Jennings is set to add another track to his resume as he and MB Motorsports head to the fast mile and a half Chicagoland Speedway in the LG SEEDS / Mittler Brothers Machine & Tool Chevy Silverado for the EnjoyIllinois.com 225.

“The LG SEEDS Chevy Silverado always seems to run pretty well on the intermediate tracks, so I’m looking forward to making my first start at Chicagoland,” says Jennings.

Jennings record on intermediate tracks has been impressive.  Each time out he has been turning faster laps at the end of the race than he was at the start.  “Justin is a quick study,” notes team owner Mike Mittler. “He just quietly goes about the business at hand, learning the track and what he can from watching the veteran drivers.”

“Chicagoland Speedway will be the fourth intermediate track we’ll have raced on,” says Jennings.   “Although they’re all mile and a half tracks, they’re all as different as they are similar.  What worked for us at Texas isn’t necessarily going to work for us at Chicagoland.  So we’ll take a little bit of what we learned from there and Kansas and Kentucky and adapt those things to what we encounter Friday night. Our goal is to run well, get LG SEEDS exposure for all their support and be there at the end of the race with the truck in one piece.  If we do that and I learn something in the process, we’ll have done well.”

This time out Jennings will be getting help from veteran NASCAR crew chief John Monsam. “Having John working with us is really cool,” Jennings grins.  “Not only is he a winning crew chief, but the man has worked with the Wood Brothers and Roush and KHI and drivers like Rick Carelli and Mike Skinner and so many others.  That’s impressive.”

Mittler adds, “John’s an old friend who can give us some good input and help Justin become an even better driver.  I’m looking forward to a good run for the LG SEEDS Chevy on Friday night at Chicagoland Speedway.”

The EnjoyIllinois.com 225 marks the seventh race LG SEEDS, the third largest corn seed company in the US, has partnered with MB Motorsports for the 2013 season.  “As I’ve said before, the folks at LG SEEDS are great to work with,” states Mittler.  “We want to do our best to give Justin everything he needs to make them proud.”

MITTLER’S THOUGHTS ON CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY: “Each time we have unloaded at a track Justin has never driven, he has done well and you’d never know it was his first time on that track. I expect Chicagoland to be no different. Our guys have worked hard to get the LG SEEDS Chevy prepared for this race, so I’m looking forward to a good Friday night.”
