Ryan Newman Enters Mudsummer Classic at Eldora Speedway with Turner Scott Motorsports

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star and former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) winner Ryan Newman will return to the NCWTS for the first time in over two years for the Mudsummer Classic at Eldora Speedway on July 24. Newman will pilot the No. 34 Oral-B/Aggressive Hydraulics/WIX Filter Silverado for Turner Scott Motorsports.

Newman has four previous starts in the NCWTS, collecting one victory, one pole and four top-five finishes. Newman’s most recent NCWTS start was at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the fall of 2011, where he started and finished fifth while competing for Turner Scott Motorsports.

Newman participated in a recent test session for Turner Scott Motorsports on July 8 at 311 Motor Speedway in Pine Hall, N.C. Turner Scott Motorsports NASCAR Nationwide Series crew chief Chris Carrier will be calling the shots atop the pit box for Newman in the Inaugural Mudsummer Classic at Eldora Speedway.

“I can’t thank everyone at Oral-B, Aggressive Hydraulics, WIX Filter and Turner Scott Motorsports enough for this unique opportunity,” said Ryan Newman. “This race is going to be something really special in NASCAR’s history. I’ve always enjoyed racing in the Truck Series and to be able to get back and race on dirt with a truck, I think everyone will be in for a special treat. We were able to test at 311 and I thought everything went as planned and I know Chris [Carrier] and the rest of the Oral-B team will have a great truck prepared for the race at Eldora.”

The Mudsummer Classic from Eldora Speedway can be seen live on SPEED starting at 7:00 p.m. EDT on July 24. The race can also be heard on SiriusXM Satellite Radio, channel 90 or MRN Radio.
