North Florida Speedway Joins the ASA Member Track Program

ASA Racing is proud to welcome North Florida Speedway, located in Lake City, FL, to the ASA Member Track program. The 3/8-mile clay oval becomes the third track in Florida to become part of the popular short track focused sanctioning body.

“We are very happy to be joining the ASA family,” Phil Guadagno, co-owner of North Florida Speedway exclaimed. “The big thing we like about their program is that their membership program is available to all of our racers in every division. We think that it is a really neat deal, and I think our competitors will enjoy being part of a national sanctioning body.”

Phil, along with his wife Elizabeth, purchased the facility located three miles south of Lake City, FL over eight years ago. During that time, they have made many improvements to North Florida Speedway. Last week, they installed new aluminum bleachers in time for their season opener on January 25-26.

Elizabeth said that they have made improvements with lighting, track surface, installing concrete walls and more. “We are very proud of the improvements we have made to the track,” Elizabeth Guadagno said. “When we bought it, it was almost a junkyard and we have invested a lot back into the track to make this a very family friendly facility.”

For both Phil and Elizabeth, the decision to join the ASA Member Track program was easy for multiple reasons. “One thing that really stood out for me was the extra protection that is available to our drivers through the ASA membership,” Phil said. “As a Promoter, it eases my mind to know that our competitors have very good protection while they compete at North Florida Speedway.”

“I am excited about joining the ASA Member Track program because I feel that it will help take North Florida Speedway up to that next level,” Elizabeth said. “Phil and I feel that we are doing something right for the track. Plus, we really appreciate the flexibility that Dennis Huth and everyone made at ASA Racing to make this win-win partnership work for both of us.”

Throughout the year, the TQ Lates, Pure Stocks, Street Stocks, Sportsman, Box Stocks, Limited Mods, Open Wheel Modifieds Late Models, Florida Mini Sprints Association and more will challenge the 3/8-mile clay oval on Saturday nights.

“We are proud to welcome Phil, Elizabeth, their staff and competitors of North Florida Speedway to the ASA Member Track family,” Dennis Huth, ASA Racing President said. “Our conversations with Phil and Elizabeth have been very enthusiastic and we are pleased to do what he can to help their vision of taking North Florida Speedway up to a higher level. Like we do with all of our tracks, we were able to put together a unique program what will work for them and help achieve their goals. Welcome and we look forward to a long partnership together.”

North Florida Speedway will kick off their 2013 season on January 25-26 with the 2013 Nationals for the Locals.
