ASA Pro Truck Series Returns to Magic Valley Speedway this Saturday Night

With three Saturday nights with no races the ASA Pro Trucks are excited to get back into action this Saturday night at Magic Valley Speedway. “We’re all excited to see the Pro Trucks back at the track. They have a great following and the fans really like them. A lot of the drivers started here at Magic Valley and still call it home. They have a connection to the fans and you can’t see them every week like the local divisions.” Said, Eddy McKean Magic Valley Speedway Promoter.

Scott Luttmer won in the last outing at Magic Valley clinching the season opener and early point lead. After a rough night at Rocky Mountain Raceway, Luttmer dropped to fourth in the point standings.

Defending Champion Jerry Rice, took advantage coming into the last event second in points and winning the race from the thirteenth starting position. With finishing and passing points Rice took an eleven point lead over Drew Reitsma. Reitsma has a second and a third place finish this season. “I feel really good about this season so far. The truck has been really good and I think we have a truck that can win” Reitsma has provided race footage of both events this season. The video’s can be seen on the series face book page at www.facebook.com/AsaProTrucks. “We hope to capture some good footage, the race at Rocky Mountain Raceway was pretty cool I was in fifth or sixth and got shuffled to the back. We raced back up to third so there is some pretty cool passing going on.“

Former series Champion Jeff Pohlman is scheduled to race the Newhouse racing number seventy-seven. Pohlman sits third in points but driving a truck that is currently for sale the better he finishes the more likely the truck will sell leaving Pohlman sitting on the sidelines. In the season opener at Magic Valley Pohlman captured the pole from his teammate Hannah Newhouse. Newhouse will be back in action for her third truck start. After a disappointing finish at Rocky Mountain, she put that all behind her with a win last week in the Super Stocks at Magic Valley Speedway. Newhouse couldn’t feel better about her chances in the truck Saturday night. She has the most combined starts in 2012 and has more wins with two.

Johnny Pierre and Alan Larson are tied for the fifth position in points coming into this weeks event. Both veteran drivers found some missing speed in the last race. Pierre was running away from the field in the early part of the last race but after getting up into some floor dry the track had put down on a restart. He was shuffled to the rear of the field. “I just lost my focus, I really felt like I had a truck no one was going to be able to touch. After I got crossed up I just couldn’t get back in a rhythm.”

The green flag is scheduled to fall at 6:30 kicking off all the racing action at Magic Valley Speedway. Magic Valley Speedway is located one mile west of the Twin Falls Airport. The ASA Pro Trucks will be the featured division and are scheduled for a fifty lap main event.
