Five ASA Member Tracks highlighted this past weekend’s racing action

Ace Speedway, Desoto Super Speedway, Dillon Motor Speedway, East Bay Raceway Park, and Havasu 95 Speedway all had some great racing action this past Saturday.  Two were special events and three hosted their weekly programs.

Here is a look at what happened this past weekend in ASA Racing.

The ASA Member Track opened their 2012 season with the Farewell to Frost event on Saturday afternoon.  Burt Myers would get by Jonathan Brown with two laps to go to win the first Madhouse Modified feature and would then go down to win the second leading wire-to-wire.  Brown finished second in both while Jason Myers finished third in both 50-lap events.  Gary Ledbetter won in the Sportsman.  David Sumner won in the Street Stocks while Barry Wilson won the UCAR Clash for Cash.

DESOTO SUPER SPEEDWAY (Bradenton, FL)

Nicholas Hernandez held off Danny Anderson and Clark Logan to win the DS Truck feature this past Saturday night.  Jimmie Best fended off a battle from Duane Best and Kyle Best to win the Bombers feature.  David Davis won in the Modified Mini’s.  Bruce Carbone won in the Mini Stocks. Roger Welch won in the Sportsman while Jason Godwin took the checkers in the Trophy Dash.

DILLON MOTOR SPEEDWAY (Dillon, SC)

Preston Peltier held off Jay Fogleman and Stephen Nasse to win the PASS Super Late Models Carolina Clash 150 this past Saturday night.  Trey Jarrell won the Legends Main event.  Justin LaDuke was the big winner in the Allison Legacy cars.  Brandon Bass won in the Mini Cups while Nick Robinson won in the Mini Cup Juniors.

EAST BAY RACEWAY PARK (Tampa, FL)

Travis Varnadore had a great battle with Roger Crouse and Phillip Cobb in the Late Model Main this past Saturday night.  Varnardore would hold off the two for the win.  Scotty Williams took the win in the Limited Late Models.  Shirlene Hammond took the win in the Outlaw Fours. Donnie Reed won in the Street Stocks and Patrick Fiore, Jr. won in the 4 Cylinder Bombers.

HAVASU 95 SPEEDWAY (Lake Havasu City, AZ)

Rick Bezanson picked up another win in the ASA Street Stocks this past Saturday night.  Austin Barnes grabbed the checkers in the Modifieds.  Cole Loftsgard won in the Street Stocks.  Lisa Snell drove The Intimidators car to the win in the Team Factory Stocks.
