ASA National Champion Enjoyed his Tryout at Ace Speedway

Barry Beggarly, the 2011 ASA Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil Member Track National Champion, enjoyed his tryout with Joe Gibbs Racing today.  The tryout took place at Ace Speedway, ASA Member Track in Altamahaw, NC.  The same track where he captured the 2011 championship.

“I think everything went well and had a lot of fun,” Beggarly said at the end of the test session.  “The car was good a few times, made some changes, some made it better and some made it worse.  All in all it was a good day.”

Beggarly arrived at the track shortly after 9:00am this morning and about an hour later was behind the wheel of the JGR #18 Toyota Camry shaking down the car.

Shortly after his first two sessions, ASA President Dennis Huth, presented Beggarly with a Simpson National Champion driver suit courtesy of ASA and Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil.

Beggarly worked closely with JGR Crew Chief Bryant Frazier and his team throughout the day.  The test session ended around 3:30pm.

“I think we had a good day.  We had a lot of fun,” Frazier said.  “We worked on the car as a full blown test session today trying to get the car better for him.  He knows this track very well and knows how to get a car around here.  We worked on stuff on our car to make us better and had a lot of fun because he has the experience to get the job done.”

On Tuesday, Beggarly along with his wife Janie will visit Joe Gibbs Racing in Huntersville, NC where he will get a tour of their facility and have a meeting with JGR President JD Gibbs and maybe Coach Joe Gibbs.
