Staff Writers are the heart and soul of every website. Staff Writers here at Speedway Digest will strive to write the best news articles and opinion pieces to our readers. News articles should not only explain what is going on, but should analyze that situations. Opinion pieces should express your opinions, but should also avoid negativity that will spark anything other than friendly debate between all fans in the comments, social networks, etc. owned and operated by Speedway Digest!
We’re looking for qualified candidates to fill this position as soon as possible. You will be required to submit a minimum of two columns per week* that are well formatted and free of errors (grammar and spelling). We are looking for Staff Writers who can cover the NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series, Truck Series, NASCAR Hometracks and/or Regional Racing (K&N Series, Modified’s, etc.), NASCAR Fantasy, and more!
All NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity, Truck Series and Racing News articles are distributed directly to Bing, Google, Yahoo News, multiple worldwide publisher networks with many of these articles posted directly on the main and/or news page(s) of these sites giving you and your writing exposure to other networks.
Speedway Digest is run entirely out of my own pocket therefore is a non-compensated staff position.
If you are interested in applying, please email me with the following**, one opinion article on any topic in NASCAR and one article covering a news item(Driver/Team/Track/Sponsor announcement, race weekend winner, etc. are all acceptable. No social media only articles will be accepted). If previous coverage with other sites, sample links to your coverage will be accepted.
* All contributors will be required a minimum of 30 pieces (15 opinion, commentary, or creative and 15 race weekend) before credential consideration for on site events. Only exemptions that will be considered will be verifiable previous work for other motorsports publications with at least one year minimum coverage in NASCAR or other motorsports that includes at track credentialed coverage.
** If applying for or already covering eNASCAR iRacing, Heat, etc. please email current work samples or for information on alternate work sample submissions.
