Yeley Crosses the Bricks 19th

The NASCAR XFINITY Series hosted the Lilly Diabetes 250 at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It was the fourth and final segment of the ‘Dash for Cash’ Heat races of the 2016 season.

 

Based on a qualifying run, JJ Yeley, driver of the No. 44 Zachry Toyota was slotted to start in the 13th position in the first heat race. During the 20 lap event, he relayed the Zachry Toyota was loose and finished the heat in the 10th position. The break between heat races allowed the Zachry team the opportunity to make adjustments to the car.

 

Starting 21st in the Main event, Yeley quickly advanced to the 17th position by lap three and radioed the Zachry Toyota had better grip. After a long green flag run, Crew Chief Frank Kerr called Yeley in for a green flag pit stop on lap 27. After returning to the field and running a few laps, the Zachry Toyota became loose; a condition Yeley continued to battle for the remainder of the 60 lap event. A late in the race caution created a green, white, checker scenario and Yeley crossed the bricks 18th at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
