Rookie Ryan Preece scored his best run of the Xfinity Series season Saturday, finishing 15th in the Sparks Energy 300 at Talladega Superspeedway.
Preece quickly moved forward from his 26th starting spot to break into the top 20. He raced as high as sixth before finishing 15th in the lead pack.
“What a ride,” Preece said. “For my first time here, it was great. We had a good car that drafted well, and we were able to be in the right places at the right times. A big day for the team.”
Preece, driving the G&K Services Chevrolet, is 17th in Xfinity driver points.
