Ross Chastain finished 17th in Saturday’s Sparks Energy 300 Xfinity Series race at Talladega Superspeedway, his second-best run of the 2016 season.
Chastain qualified 29th but raced as high as 13th and ran mid-pack much of the race.
“A pretty good run for us today,” Chastain said. “We were right in the middle of all that jousting and jumping around late in the race. It’s always good to bring a car home in one piece here and have a pretty good finish.”
Chastain is 15th in Xfinity driver points nine races into the season.
