Ross Chastain raced with the front pack at Richmond International Raceway Saturday, finishing a strong 18th in the ToyotaCare 250 Xfinity Series race, the eighth event of the season.
The finish was Chastain’s second best of the year. He was one lap down to the leaders.
“We got past that big wreck near the end and finished well,” said Chastain, referring to a multi-car crash in the closing laps. “It was one of our better runs and should give us good notes for the next time we come here.”
Chastain, who drove the Florida Watermelon Association Chevrolet, is 15th in the Xfinity driver standings.
