Landon Cassill drove the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Chevrolet to a 29th-place finish in Saturday’s DAV 200 Honoring America’s Veterans at Phoenix International Raceway.
Cassill qualified 21st and raced in the teens much of the afternoon before dropping to 29th late in the event.
He stayed 18th in Xfinity Series points.
“Not the kind of day we wanted at this track,” Cassill said after the race. “We typically look to do much better here. We’ll move on to Homestead and try to close out the year strong.”
Sprint Cup driver Kyle Busch won the race easily, and Chris Buescher kept the point lead.
