Ryan Truex Looks to Make Presence Known at Charlotte

Ryan Truex will make his third and final start of the 2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series season this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. While short track racing is Truex preferred style, he has shown good speed at the mile-and-a-half tracks. In his second start of the season at Kentucky, Truex ran in the Top-10 before becoming collateral damage in an on-track scuffle between other competitors. The No. 98 Carrol Shelby Engine Company team looks to redeem themselves at Charlotte this weekend. The team has a solid notebook to work from after strong runs at similar style tracks earlier in the year from Sprint Cup drivers Aric Almirola and Sam Hornish, Jr.

Truex has three starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway, with one in the Sprint Cup Series and two in the XFINITY Series. As an organization, Biagi DenBeste Racing made 16 XFINITY Series starts at the track with four Top-15 finishes.

Truex Weekend Chatter

“Charlotte is a really fast, challenging track. I’ve ran well here in the past but just haven’t finished where I should have. It’s easy to get caught up in someone else’s mess. We’re using one of our best cars this weekend. The Biagi DenBeste team has had some good runs on these D-shaped ovals. We had a Top-10 car at Kentucky. I know we can match that this weekend. This is the last start of the year for me, and I really want to prove to everyone I deserve to be out here racing against the best drivers in the world.”
