Self scores 11th at Road America

Michael Self turned in a brilliant performance in the Auto Remote Warehouse/QuickDraw Tape Measures Chevrolet Saturday, roaring back to finish 11th in the Road America 180 Xfinity Series race at Road America.

Self ran as high as second in the race, rebounding from a lap-26 tire-violation pit penalty that slowed his progress.

“It was just an awesome day overall,” Self said. “We had some issues during practice that Wayne (crew chief Wayne Setterington) and the guys did a great job fixing and gave me a really solid Auto Remote Warehouse/QuickDraw Tape Measures Chevy. We were strong right off the bat and fought our way forward before the pit-road penalty, then Wayne called a great strategy to get us back to the front and gave us the chance to fight hard with those front cars.

“They had a little more tire than we did, which dropped us back on the last restart, but I can’t thank Johnny (team owner Johnny Davis) and Wayne and my crew enough for continuing to work hard and believe in me.”
