NXS: Qualifying Washed Out, Starting Line Up Set By First Practice Speeds

Rain forced NASCAR to cancel the two rounds of qualifying on Saturday at Road America. Per rule book, the sanctioning body will line the field up based on results in the first practice session on Friday.

This will put Ben Rhodes on the pole for Saturday’s Road America 180 Fired Up by Johnsonville. Rhodes will start on the pole for the first time of his NASCAR XFINITY Series career. The Kentucky native has two top 10 finishes and continues to search for his first career victory.

Chase Elliott will start in the runner-up spot right beside Rhodes. Elliott comes into the weekend looking to capture his first win of the season in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. The Georgia native has eight top five and 18 top 10 finishes and comes into the weekend sitting third in points.

Ryan Blaney will make his ninth XFINITY Series start of the season on Saturday at Road America in the No. 22 Discount Tire Ford. Blaney will take the green flag in the third starting position as the 21-year old will look to capture his second victory of the season in the series.

Chris Buescher will start the race in the sixth starting spot. Buescher comes into the weekend leading the NASCAR XFINITY Series driver standings by 19 points over Ty Dillon. Dillon will take the green in the 13th starting position.
