NXS: Ryan Blaney Wins U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway

Ryan Blaney will take home the checkered flag at the Iowa Speedway after a dominating performance in his No. 22 Discount Tire Ford. Blaney survived at the front after two green-white-checker finishes at the end of the race. The young driver will walk away with his third career win in the XFINITY Series.

Blaney shattered the record for the number of laps led for a race leader on Saturday at the Iowa Speedway. The North Carolina native led three different times for 252 laps. The No. 22 Penske ride captured the third consecutive victory at the short track in August.

Regan Smith will leave the Iowa Speedway with the runner-up finishing position. Smith was able to lead some laps while green flag pit stops cycled through. The ninth-place starter was unable to touch Blaney and had to settle for the second spot by 0.321 seconds. The New York native captured his best finish of the season after scoring three finishes in third.

Brian Scott will round out the top three finishers at the 0.875-mile oval. Scott started the day in eleventh and laid in the weeds for most of the evening. The Idaho native used the late-race restarts to his advantage by passing cars to drive his way to the front. Scott has three top five and 11 top 10 finishes through 19 races this year.

Daniel Suarez had a wild night behind the wheel of his No. 18 ARRIS Toyota. Suarez started the evening on the pole and will leave the track with a sixth-place run. Once he got back on the lead lap, Suarez begin to pick-off cars to advance his running position.

Kenny Wallace strapped into the seat of a NASCAR XFINITY Series car for the final time of his career on Saturday. Wallace started the day in seventh when the U.S. Cellular 250 began. The veteran driver finished 15th despite being involved in two on-track incidents.

The NASCAR XFINITY Series driver points gap continues to decline between Chris Buescher and Chase Elliott. Buescher currently holds a 20 point lead over Elliott. Ty Dillon sits in third by only one point behind Elliott. Regan Smith and Elliott Sadler round out the top five.

The NASCAR XFINITY Series will go road course racing next weekend at Watkins Glen. Coverage will begin at 3:00 p.m. ET. on NBCSN. The Motor Racing Network will carry the live radio feed.
