No. 43 Team Ready for Second Intermediate Track of Season

Dakoda Armstrong and the No. 43 WinField team will tackle another 1.5-mile track this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The team showed speed last weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the first intermediate race of the season. While the two tracks aren’t exactly the same, the No. 43 team will be able to transfer some of their notes from Atlanta to help them this weekend in Las Vegas.

Going into this weekend’s race at Las Vegas, Armstrong is fifth in the XFINITY Series Championship Point Standings. He has two NASCAR Series starts at Las Vegas with a best finish of 16th in his lone Truck Series start. Armstrong finished 23rd in the XFINITY Series race last year at the 1.5-mile track.

“I think it helps for us to have our first intermediate race under our belts going into Vegas. There were a lot of moments where our team showed speed last weekend in Atlanta.  We made some really good adjustments, and some of the notes we gathered will be transferable to this weekend. That will give us an even better starting point for the weekend.

“We don’t have a ‘Chase’ format in the XFINITY Series, so being consistent during the season is important. We race against a lot of Cup guys each Saturday, but those guys aren’t running for XFINITY points. We’re fifth in points, and that’s showing a lot of improvement. We need to stay consistent and just try to compete for the best finishes each week. Our WinField team is strong, and we can stay here all season.”
