JOPLIN, Mo. – Joey Logano earned the pole for Saturday’s Hisense 250 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Logano, who won the Daytona 500 nearly one week ago, will also start on the pole in Sunday’s Sprint Cup Series race. The 24-year old driver posted a fast time of 30.104 seconds, 184.162 mph. Today will be his first XFINITY Series start of 2015.
Brian Scott will start on the front row with Logano after a time of 30.297 seconds, 182.988 mph. Scott comes into the Hisense 250 still searching for his first career XFINITY Series victory. He was 0.193 seconds away from earning the top spot.
Starting from the third spot will be Regan Smith in his No. 7 TaxSlayer.com Chevrolet with JR Motorsports. Smith posted a time of 30.300 seconds, 182.970 mph. in the final round. The New York native comes into the weekend looking to stay on all four wheels to earn his fifth XFINITY Series victory.
With 40 cars featured on the entry list, nobody went home after qualifying.
