David Ragan: Front Row Motorsports Talladega 500 Race Report

David Ragan scored Front Row Motorsports second-best finish in the young team’s history during Sunday’s Talladega 500. Ragan spun himself around the last-lap wreck to be scored in fourth at the end of the race.  It is Ragan’s 13th top-five in his Sprint Cup career.

For Front Row Motorsports, the finish again proves that the team is close to winning on a superspeedway. The company now has all it’s top-10 and top-five finishes at Talladega or Daytona.

Again, the team used the strategy of waiting until the final laps before showing it’s cards.  Always with fast superspeedway cars, Ragan and his 8-Hour Alert team stayed out of trouble all afternoon.  The team made minor adjustments and took fuel and tires on all scheduled stops.

Ragan made his move on the last laps and the 8-Hour Alert Ford came right through the wreck by going low.  He was clipped at the end, but was able to keep moving.  The caution came out and Ragan was scored in fourth.  It’s his best finish since a seventh at Talladega earleir this year.

David Ragan on Talladega:

“I’m glad we only do this four times a year on these superspeedways.  It’s a lot of stress, but we seem to manage great finishes.  In that respect, we’re pretty pumped.  This is one of the best finishes ever for Front Row Motorsports and it’s the best finish for 8-Hour Alert.  The car is beat up, but we don’t need it anymore with the new cars next year.  It was a wild finish, but it gave us a lot of excitement too.  A fourth is a great finish no matter how it comes.”
