Travis Kvapil Arrested, Charged with Assault

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Travis Kvapil was arrested Tuesday night and charged with assault after getting into a dispute with his wife, according to Moorseville, NC police. Officers say Kvapil had been involved is a domestic dispute leading to Kvapil being arrested and charged with assault on a female and false imprisonment. Kvapil was taken to Iredell County Jail and held under a domestic hold awaiting an appearance in District Court. He was released early Wednesday morning on an unsecured bond.

Kvapil is the 2003 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion and has made 240 career starts in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series including all 30 races this season driving the #93 BK Racing Toyota. He currently sits 31st in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings with a best finish of 16 at August.

NASCAR, BK Racing and Kvapil have all not yet commented on the situation and there is no word on his status for this weekend’s Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Kvapil has since been released on bond with a scheduled court appearance on Nov 19th.
