Brian Keselowski Will Attempt to Qualify for the Daytona 500 for His Own Team

The older brother of current Sprint Cup Series Champion Brad Keselowski will attempt to qualify for this season’s Daytona 500. Brian Keselowski will drive his Brian Keselowski Motorsports No. 92 Toyota/Ford to try to qualify for the Great American Race.

He recently moved his race team to a shop in Hunterville, North Carolina and said that if he finds sponsorship he could enter more Sprint Cup Series races in 2013. His only Cup Series start came in the 2011 Daytona 500 when he started 12th and finished 41st.

The 31-year old Keselowski failed to qualify for five races in the 2011 season. He has 63 career Nationwide Series starts with one top ten finish. According to his teams press release he could also be racing some ARCA Racing Series races this season. He has 36 career ARCA starts with three wins, nine top 5’s and 21 top 10’s to his credit.

There is a chance that his team might switch to Ford’s, which his brother Brad will be racing with Penske Racing, but he will attempt the Daytona 500 in a Toyota. His father, Bob Keselowski, will serve as the team’s crew chief.
