Glory Foods to Sponsor Both Gilliland and Ragan at Charlotte

Don’t be confused this weekend when you see not one, but two Glory Foods-sponsored Fords at the Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway.  Glory Foods will sponsor the Front Row Motorsports entries of David Ragan and the No. 34 team and also David Gilliland and the No. 38 team.  The sponsorship is aimed to bring awareness to the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity, Feeding America.

Glory Foods has partnered with Feeding America this year to support the cause against child hunger.  As part of the “Race to Feeding America” campaign, Glory Foods will donate $1 million to Feeding America if either David Ragan or David Gilliland wins Saturday night’s 500-mile race.  Gilliland and Ragan have already helped Glory Foods donate 43,000 pounds of canned goods to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, a Feeding America Food Bank in Charlotte.

“As a father of two, I can’t imagine not being able to provide a meal to them,” said Gilliland.  “But, unfortunately, that situation exists for so many children across the country.  That really hits home and I want to ask everyone to help if they can.  This has been a great campaign for my family and Front Row Motorsports to support.  I’d love nothing more than to win Saturday night and help be a part of a million dollar donation to help Feeding America.  That’d be really special.”

This weekend’s race is the third sponsorship by Glory Foods with the race team and the “Race to Feeding America” campaign.  Glory Foods previously sponsored the team at both Bristol and Atlanta this fall with David Ragan behind the wheel.  Ragan is now ready to race for the million dollar donation, an amount that would provide 8 million meals to children in need.

“Glory Foods has been one of the many new partners of Front Row Motorsports this season,” commented Ragan.  “They have been great to work with because they are passionate about their campaign to help feed children.  That’s really cool and we need all our fans to support this if they can.  I’m proud to be associated with Glory Foods and this effort.  I’m going to do my best to win this Saturday night and make that million dollar donation a reality.”

Fans can do their part by visiting www.racetofeedingamerica.org to learn how they can donate to the cause.  They also have an opportunity to win two VIP passes to the 2013 Coca-Cola 600.  Fans are also encouraged to support their local Feeding America food bank in their area.

Ragan enters Charlotte with three top-10 finishes and a runner-up finish at the track.  Gilliland has a best finish of 25th at the mile-and-a-half oval. The team enters the race with momentum after Ragan finished fourth last weekend at Talladega. The result was the second-best finish for Front Row Motorsports in its young history.  Saturday night’s race will be televised live on ABC.
