Kvapil Ready for More after Scoring BK Racing Best

Travis Kvapil, driver of the No. 93 Dr Pepper Toyota, took BK Racing to new heights last weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. He captured an eighth-place finish, marking the organization’s best finish to date, as well as its first top-10. Kvapil aims to keep the momentum rolling in this week’s Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Kvapil has made 11 Cup Series starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway. His best finish is 17th place, which came in 2005 after starting in 42nd place.

Kvapil will have a new associate sponsor onboard the Dr Pepper Toyota this week, Rick’s Specialty Vehicles. Rick’s Specialty Vehicles developed and sells the Cricket ESV, which was perfectly designed to answer the ever-growing need of “destination mobility.” It’s great for people who need convenient, dependable, economical transportation when they’re at a temporary destination. Kvapil will be using the Cricket ESV to deliver Burger King Smoothies to infield guests at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday.

Comments from BK Racing Driver Travis Kvapil heading into Charlotte:

“We had an awesome weekend at Talladega. We got an eighth-place finish, our best performance yet. That was huge for our team. It was our first top-10 of the season. They’ve worked so hard this year and poured so much into our team. It’s nice to see our results reflect their effort.

“Of course Charlotte will be a completely different style of racing than we had at Talladega. We’ll be going back to more traditional-style racing and not the drafting, pack racing like we just had. Charlotte has a lot of grip. It’s a night race, so it will be cooler and the speeds will pick up. We’ve had some good runs at intermediate tracks this season. We finished in the top 20 at Kentucky. In the May race at Charlotte, we missed the setup a little bit and didn’t run as well as we hoped. That was a lot earlier in the season. I know we’ve come a long way since then. We’ve learned a lot more and have good notes to build on, so I’m expecting our performance to pick up and the Dr Pepper Toyota will have a strong run.

“One of the best things about the Charlotte race is that it’s home. At this point in the season, it’s great to be at your own house Monday through Sunday and sleep in your own bed. You can’t put a price on that.”
