Karen Matovich, a patient in Aspen Dental’s South Bend, Ind. practice, will have her smile showcased on the back of NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Ryan Newman’s No. 39 U.S. Army Chevrolet at the Good Sam Roadside Assistance 500at Talladega Superspeedway (Ala.) on Sunday, Oct. 7.
Karen was selected to have her smile featured on the car based on a review she wrote at AspenDentalReviews.com. She said this about her experience:
Due to an accident, I have had dentures since my mid-twenties. The experience has been heartbreaking, painful, and frustrating, to say the least. I have always had to settle for what the “affordable” places fit people with. Bad fit, bad bite, jaw pain, migraine headaches, messy powders and adhesives were just part of my daily routine. For over a decade I have been afraid to smile naturally. I took a photo in to the office of what I wanted my smile to look like. Dr. Terranova and her staff, especially her artist Roger, worked relentlessly fitting and refitting my teeth until everything was perfect. The color, shape, angle, and placement of the teeth were customized down to the last millimeter, literally. They gave me my confidence and my beautiful smile back…thanks to the great people at Aspen Dental.
Newman is a South Bend, Ind., native and a graduate of Purdue University (West Lafayette, Ind.), so having heard that a local patient was to be showcased on his car put a smile on his face.

Being South Bend born-and-raised, I couldn’t be happier to show Karen’s beautiful new smile off to all who are watching this weekend,” Newman said.
Aspen Dental has featured photos of patients’ smiles on Newman’s Chevrolet since April 2012, and will continue to do so throughout the Sprint Cup season. Aspen Dental has previously awarded this special honor to eight other patients from across the country.
Aspen Dental was the primary sponsor of Newman’s No. 39 Chevrolet for the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (Loudon, N.H.) on Sept. 23, and the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International (Fla.) Speedway on July 7. For all other races this season, Aspen Dental is an associate sponsor with placement on the lower-rear quarter panel of the No. 39 Chevrolet and on the upper chest of Newman’s uniform.
