Keselowski wins two of three chase races

Brad Keselowski win two of the first three Chase for the Sprint Cup races,  is adamant he isn’t a favorite for the championship.

Keselowski’s crew wasn’t flawless Sunday the No. 2 lost time on a slow pit stop but its win in the AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway was another statement that Penske Racing seems ready to claim its first title in NASCAR’s premier series.

It was the third time this season  and second in the past three weeks  that Keselowski and Wolfe have managed to outwit Johnson and crew chief Chad Knaus with a crafty pit maneuver.

Given the five-time champion’s weakness with conserving fuel (Johnson admitted Sunday he is “the worst” among the four Hendrick Motorsports drivers), that might bode well for Keselowski’s title chances.

“I like the strategy we have and how we do it,” Keselowski said. “Certainly, we’re executing it very well. It sounds great to give the credit to the driver. I think you have to keep it in the context of team.”

He might concede, though, that his team is. “I can’t emphasize the word ‘team’ strongly enough, because that’s what this sport is,” Keselowski said. “It’s easy to get caught up looking in stat books and looking at drivers and forget about teams. That’s what this was: a team effort.”
