Fresh Paint for Cassill at Kansas Speedway

Landon Cassill, driver of the No. 83 BK Racing Toyota, is ready to cool down the competition in Sunday’s STP 400 at Kansas Speedway. His Camry will have a special paint scheme to promote Burger King’s new BK® Strawberry Banana Smoothie. The smoothie, made with real fruit, low-fat yogurt, and made fresh to order in the kitchen, is the perfect snack to keep you going all day. Cassill hopes his car’s new, bright pink motif will help yield a solid performance at the 1.5-mile oval.

Cassill has three previous NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts at Kansas Speedway. His best finish is 17th place (2012), which was his third-best finish last season. He has one start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Kansas (2008). He started 21st and finished 13th driving for Morgan-Dollar Motorsports.

Kansas Speedway is the closest track on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series circuit to Cassill’s hometown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The driver will have several friends and family members at the track to cheer him on.

Cassill’s No. 83 BK Racing team remained in the top-35 of the NSCS owner point standings after last week’s 30th-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway. The team is 35th, 18 points outside of 30th place.

Comments from BK Racing driver Landon Cassill heading into Kansas:

“We’re really excited about our car this weekend. We’re running a special paint scheme with the BK Strawberry Banana Smoothie on it. The car is bright pink and will definitely stand out. It’s going to be seen on the track. I have no doubt about that.

“It will be nice to return to another intermediate track this weekend. Because our team started in February, we began this season without any notes or info on previous setups. Each time we go to a new configuration, we’re a little behind the eight ball because it’s brand new to us. Now that we’ve been to Texas (Motor Speedway) and Las Vegas (Motor Speedway), we’ll be more prepared for Kansas and can hopefully rely on our notes from those tracks to speed up our learning curve. Our car had great balance last weekend at Texas, so we’re aiming to build on that and be as good at Kansas.

“Kansas Speedway is close to my hometown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I’ll be able to visit some friends and family while I’m there. That’s always a huge bonus. I’ll have a few folks come to the track to be there for the weekend. We’ll give it our best shot to impress them.”
