Otter Pops Joins Go Fas Racing and Jeffrey Earnhardt for Darlington

Go Fas Racing (GFR) is pleased to announce that Otter Pops, the famous fun freezer pop we all grew up with will join long time GFR partner Keen Parts on the No.32 Ford Fusion. The car will pay tribute to Jeffrey Earnhardt’s grandfather Dale Earnhardt with a design that combines the No. 3 and No. 2 driven by Dale Earnhardt in 1981, on his way to earning 17 top-ten finishes and nine top five’s, including a sixth place finish in the Southern 500 at Darlington.

“I’m really excited to have Otter Pops joining us and Keen Parts for the Southern 500,” said Jeffrey Earnhardt. “I’ve been eating them since I can remember and you can’t help but smile when you’re eating an Otter Pop!  It’s especially hot this summer, and is always hot at Darlington on Labor Day, so I’m happy to have them part of our team and look forward to eating a bunch of them at Darlington.”

“We’re all very excited to announce Otter Pop’s jumping on board our No.32 Ford Fusion alongside our long time partners, Tom and TJ Keen of Keen Parts/Corvetteparts.net for the Southern 500,” said GFR team owner Archie St.Hilaire. “We’ve been planning this throwback paint scheme for quite some time now so it’s great to see so much participation. We can’t thank everyone enough for supporting us.”

Otter Pops has a long association with the racing world, having sponsored cars in NHRA Drag Racing, Verizon IndyCar series, and NASCAR throughout the 80’s and 90’s. However, no accomplishment for the brand’s racing involvement trumps its 1992 Indy 500 win in the Verizon IndyCar series with Al Unser, Jr. driving the Otter Pops Indy car. The Jel Sert Company, that acquired the Otter Pops brand in 1997, is thrilled to sponsor the Otter Pops car debuting at Darlington Raceway. Otter Pops have been keeping people of all ages refreshed and hydrated for decades.

“We are very proud to have the opportunity to bring Otter Pops back into the racing world, and even more excited to be able to do it with Jeffrey Earnhardt!” said Kyle Harrington, Brand Manager of Otter Pops. “Given the history of the brand’s involvement in NASCAR and the legacy of Jeffrey’s family, it was a perfect fit!”

Darlington Raceway’s award-winning throwback event celebrates the history and heritage of NASCAR racing at one of the sport’s most iconic tracks. The campaign focuses on specific eras, plus the historic moments and drivers that made impacts at the track “Too Tough to Tame”. The Tradition Continues throwback celebration will take place on Labor Day weekend as the NSCS Bojangles’ Southern 500 is set for Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, airing at 6:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
