NASCAR Issues Penalties Following New Hampshire

NASCAR announced warnings and penalties following the New Hampshire Motor Speedway weekend. The warnings and penalties report involved numerous Sprint Cup Series teams and one team over in the NASCAR XFINITY Series.
 
The No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing team entered the week on the hot seat after failing post-race inspection through the lasers. Matt Kenseth, driver of the No. 20 Toyota, led two different times for 38 total laps of the New Hampshire 301. The win marked Kenseth’s second of the year.
 
Crew chief Jason Ratcliff has been fined 25,000 dollars. The team will also lose 15 championship owner and driver points for violating sections 12.1 and 20.17.3.1.2. It falls under the P3 category of the NASCAR deterrence system. 
 
Sprint Cup Series teams No. 3, 4, 22, 1, 3, 6, 10, 14, 15, 19, 21, 42, 47, 83, 19 all received warnings. The No. 3 NASCAR XFINITY Series team was issued a warning for failing template inspection three times prior to qualifying.
