Rich Logistics Joins Whitt for Kansas Race

Rich Logistics, a Roadrunner Transportation Systems Inc. (NYSE: RRTS) company, will turn its first laps on a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series car with Cole Whitt at Kansas Speedway this weekend. The trucking and logistics company will sponsor the No. 35 entry of Front Row Motorsports for Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400.

Little Rock, Ark.-based Rich Logistics provides trucking and expedited freight shipping services throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. The company operates a fleet of more than 600 units out of 11 locations, including one in Kansas City, Mo.

Sunday’s Sprint Cup race will be Rich Logistics’ first partnership in NASCAR.

“We are very excited to get involved in the sport of NASCAR, especially with a young, up-and-coming driver like Cole,” said Shannon Everett, Rich’s chief financial officer. “Kansas Speedway is a neighbor to our Kansas City operations, so it serves as a great venue for us to give appreciation to our drivers and employees.

“Our employees are loyal NASCAR fans and we are excited to sponsor Cole this weekend on their behalf as a part of our driver appreciation activities. These guys are very familiar with driving over 400 miles in a day — they just don’t get to do it at 200 miles an hour.”

Sunday’s race will air nationally on NBC with coverage beginning at 2 p.m. ET. The event will be the second of three races in the Contender round of the Chase, the Sprint Cup Series’ four-round playoffs.

“It’s always good seeing new companies come on board to see what our sport’s all about,” Whitt said. “With the Chase getting close to another cut-off point, and Talladega being the wild card that it always is, there will be a lot of eyes on the Kansas race. So, we’ll look to give the Rich Logistics team a good run.”
