BK Racing Partners with Sam Bass and Beds for Kids at Darlington Raceway

BK Racing has partnered with NASCAR artist Sam Bass and Beds for Kids, a local Charlotte non-profit for the upcoming race weekend at Darlington Raceway.

Beds for Kids is furnishing futures one family at a time. Founded in 2011, Beds for Kids is a 501(c)3 non-profit whose mission is to provide a bed and other essential furniture to every child and family in need. Careful research has been done and strategic partnerships have been established in order to create the best business practices to effectively develop new levels of self-sustainability for the clients Beds for Kids serves. Since 2011, Beds for Kids has directly impacted 3,933 individuals, delivered 3,179 beds and 24,686 total bed and furniture units to children and families in need. Beds for Kids continues to serve hundreds of families each year in an effective, long lasting and dignifying way.

Daniel Fogarty, Beds for Kids Executive Director commented, “Beds for Kids is excited and grateful for the opportunity that Ron Divine and the BK Racing family has given us. Every night in the US hundreds of thousands of children go to sleep on the floor without a bed to call their own. We know that in Charlotte, North Carolina over 7,500 children are sleeping on the floor. Together with partners such as Ashley Furniture Homestore, Sealy Temper, LR Apparel, Pro Cal and Greatwide Trucking we are able to impact more lives by providing beds and essential furniture to children in need in our community.  We are grateful for Sam Bass, who committed to helping us without any hesitation. The car looks amazing and we are looking forward to the awareness that this will bring. We invite the community to get involved with our organization and help us, furnish futures.”

Sam Bass, an established figure in the NASCAR industry, is well known for his fine art paintings and illustrations. Sam has worked with several notable organizations including The NASCAR Foundation, Speedway Children’s Charities and The Jeff Gordon Foundation over the years. Being the First Officially Licensed Artist of NASCAR, it’s an honor to have Sam join both Bed for Kids and BK Racing.

“It was such a great honor to partner with BK Racing on the Beds for Kids throwback paint scheme for Darlington,” Sam Bass commented. “The Southern 500 has such a rich and proud history in NASCAR. I found it so much fun to take the Beds for Kids logo and create a paint scheme that looked like the four year old company had been around for half a century or more! With all of the great work Beds for Kids has done in that short time, it would be a much better world to have had them around for that long. I really commend their efforts and mission to make so many children in need happy and comfortable!”

“I am excited to have Beds for Kids on board my No. 26 Toyota this weekend at Darlington Raceway,” commented BK Racing driver, JJ Yeley. “To go out there and bring light to the fact that there are children who don’t have the luxury of sleeping in a bed they call their own, is special. Hopefully we can raise awareness thru the NASCAR community, and help get some more beds delivered in the Charlotte area. It is also pretty awesome to have a Sam Bass designed car, I feel like I’ve really made it big time now!”
