Brian Scott Finishes 28th in NASCAR Sprint Cup Season Finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway
Brian Scott and his No. 33 Shore Lodge Chevrolet SS team qualified for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the 31st position. After changing an engine before the start of the race, the team was forced to start at the rear of the field. Within the first 50 laps, Scott made his way into the 28th position. He suffered from a left-rear tire rub early in the race, which would put him multiple laps down. Crew chief Slugger Labbe worked with the Shore Lodge crew during several visits to pit road to fix the issue at hand and adjust the handling on the No. 33 Chevrolet. During the 13 cautions, Scott would take the wave around on six different occasions to return to the lead lap. On the final green-flag restart, Scott raced his way to cross the finish line in the 28th position.
Start – 31st Finish – 28th
BRIAN SCOTT QUOTE:
“I really want to thank my Shore Lodge SS team for their efforts tonight. We had all the odds against us this weekend with changing engines, getting a flat in practice, and falling four laps down at one point in the race. We never gave up and kept fighting to get back on the lead lap. We did and battled hard there at the end. It was fun.”
