Greg McGuire of Champion Tire & Wheel has won the NASCAR Championship for the 2013 Pilot Flying J Truck Driver Challenge. By clinching the title, McGuire becomes the first driver from Champion Tire & Wheel to win the Pilot Flying J Truck Driver Challenge.

With the announcement of the NASCAR champion, Pilot Flying J thus ends their historic 10th Anniversary season with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Launched in 2004, the Pilot Flying J Truck Driver Challenge has promoted safe driving on the interstate, by showcasing the safe driving abilities of NASCAR’s transport drivers.

Upon winning the NASCAR championship, McGuire stated, “To be a part of something that’s been going on for ten years, on a national stage, is great,” said McGuire. “Having my name on the side of the truck along with every other champion for years to come is incredible. I have to thank Pilot Flying J for this opportunity; they have supported the truck drivers like no one else.“

Since their arrival to the competition in 2011, Champion Tire & Wheel has consistently loaded the field with drivers whose enthusiasm matches their talent. Speaking on behalf of their team, owners Jamie Rolewicz and Kevin Mahl lauded McGuire’s victory.

“”We couldn’t be more proud of Greg and what he has accomplished,” said owners, Kevin Mahl and Jamie Rolewicz. To win the Pilot Truck Driving Challenge means competing against and beating some of the best drivers in the world. Champion Tire and Wheel relies on Pilot every week and we take great pride pulling into their locations throughout the country”.

In 2nd place was Tony Sessions, #56 Michael Waltrip Racing, followed by 2012 champion Tom McCrimmon of the #20 Joe Gibbs Racing in 3rd place.
