5-hour ENERGY®, Living Beyond Breast Cancer team up for Sept. 28 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Dover

Dover International Speedway and the makers of 5-hour ENERGY® have announced a renewed relationship, this time benefiting a great cause, as 5-hour ENERGY® will serve as the title sponsor for the Saturday, Sept. 28 “5-hour ENERGY® 200 benefiting Living Beyond Breast Cancer” NASCAR Nationwide Series race.

In addition, Living Beyond Breast Cancer and 5-hour ENERGY® will be hosting a “Yoga on the Track” event with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Clint Bowyer on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 8:30 to 9 a.m. on the grass inside Turn 1 of the track. Ticket holders for the day’s race are invited to the free, half hour of yoga instruction designed to raise awareness for Living Beyond Breast Cancer.

Another fan-favorite event, the “5-hour ENERGY® Open Track Session,” will return for the fall race weekend the morning of Saturday, Sept. 28 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Open free to all ticketholders for the day’s race, the event will feature question-and-answer sessions with Bowyer and Kevin Harvick.

The race entitlement is a big portion of the introduction of a new, limited-edition, specially marked raspberry flavor of 5-hour ENERGY®. The new flavor has been released as part of 5-hour ENERGY®’s continuing effort to support breast cancer causes, most notably with Living Beyond Breast Cancer, a national non-profit education and support organization serving women and families affected by breast cancer.

From now through Dec. 31, 2013, 5-hour ENERGY® will donate five cents from the sale of every specially marked bottle of the new raspberry flavor to Living Beyond Breast Cancer. The minimum guaranteed donation is $75,000.

“Our company has a strong history of supporting causes that fight breast cancer,” said Melissa Skabich, communications director for 5-hour ENERGY®. “This year we chose LBCC because we’re so impressed with the great work they’re doing to empower women affected by breast cancer, and we are working hard to help support the organization both financially and by raising awareness for the cause.”

“We’re excited to join with 5-hour ENERGY® in supporting all of the great work that Living Beyond Breast Cancer does for so many women and families,” said Michael Tatoian, executive vice president and COO of Dover Motorsports, Inc. “This race weekend, we’ll be ‘painting the property pink’ to show our support for such a noble cause.”
