It’s All About the Kids: Richmond International Raceway Offers Youth-Friendly Options on Race Weekend

Richmond International Raceway takes the trophy when it comes to being kid- and family-friendly during its NASCAR race weekend events. With special pricing, free entry, fun activities, a kids’ club and much more, RIR is where your kid should be at the upcoming April 25-27 NASCAR weekend in Richmond.

Here’s a look at how RIR is catering to kids 12 & younger:

  • FREE seat in the general admission grandstands with a ticketed adult on Thursday, April 25, and Friday, April 26. Thursday’s ticket includes two races: the BLUE OX 100 NASCAR K&N Pro Series and Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown benefiting the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. Friday’s ticket includes the ToyotaCare 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race.   • Special kids pricing in 3-Wide fan hospitality. Fans can upgrade their Saturday race day experience with 3-Wide fan hospitality, which includes a pre-race pit pass, food and beverages and an exclusive Q&A with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kyle Busch.   • Family Sections presented by Virginia 529. In these sections, where alcohol is prohibited, kids’ tickets are $25 when accompanied by a paying adult on Saturday, April 27, for the Toyota Owners 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. To order, please call 866-455-7223.
  • Virginia 529 Kids Zone powered by Science Museum of Virginia. A free, fun and interactive pit stop at RIR on Friday and Saturday of race weekend, featuring more than 20 hands-on interactive exhibits from the museum, as well as other entertainment.
