$10k To Win Super Late Model Race, Southeast Limited Late Models Highlight Greenville-Pickens Meltdown

Greenville-Pickens Speedway Promoter Anthony Anders has announced a bombshell $10,000 to win Super Late Model race on February 18th, 2017 as the track runs its 2nd Annual Greenville-Pickens Meltdown.

The Southeast Limited Late Model Series and the Mulligan Power Trucks will join the Super Late Models for a show that is sure to pack both the pit area and the grandstand.

The Super Late Model race will be a 150-lap unsanctioned event with a mandatory pit stop required between laps 100 and 125.

The top 20 positions will be locked in after time trials, with the final 10 starting spots being determined by last chance races.

The race is open to Chevy or Ford crate engines with a rev chip of 6800 to 7000 and rules packages for PASS, CRA or Southern Super Series in effect.

The winner will receive $10,000 with second through fifth positions paying $4,000, $2000, $1500 respectively and the remaining positions all paying $1,000 to start.

There will be a six tire limit and Hoosier 45’s will be the spec tire for the event.

“We are really excited to announce this first show,” Anders said.  “We have been wanting to do a big race like this for the Super Late Models a while and we’re hoping to make it a marquee event that everyone looks forward to every year.  I’m already getting calls and texts about it and that’s awesome since we’re still in early December.  We anticipate a full field of Supers, along with a strong field of Southeast Limited Late Models and Mulligan Power Trucks.  This is definitely a show that race fans in the region will not want to miss as we kick off our 2017 season!”

Anyone with questions about the rules for the Super Late Model event should contact SLM Tech Director Mickey Cain at 706-318-2070.

The Speedway’s annual Upstate Holiday Lights Show is also underway, featuring two gorgeous tunnels and lights around the facility.  The show continues until December 31st and is a wonderful time for the entire family.
