James Hall, Jr. Named Director of Ticket Sales and Guest Services at Richmond International Raceway

Richmond International Raceway (RIR) President Dennis Bickmeier and Vice President of Marketing and Communications Michael Waddell name James Hall, Jr. as the Director of Ticket Sales and Guest Services.

Hall comes to RIR from Canton, Ohio, where he served as the Director of Ticket Sales and Service for the Canton Charge, the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA D-League affiliate. In his role, Hall oversaw all functions related to season tickets including partial plans, group tickets, premium areas, and programs.

“We welcome James and his family to the Commonwealth,” said RIR President Dennis Bickmeier. “James has great experience in developing sales teams that drive results and provide outstanding customer service. Our goal is to live up to the legacy of Bill France, Sr. who believed that everyone in the building sells tickets.”

In the past season, Hall led the Charge’s growth in ticket sales by 17% and group sales by 15% for the best season in franchise history. During his tenure as Group Sales Manager, Hall led the team in group sales annually setting a new franchise record for an individual seller. He began his tenure with the Canton Charge as the Group Event Specialist and Youth Basketball Coordinator.

“Success has been James’ partner at every stop,” said Vice President Mike Waddell. “He grew up a fan of NASCAR and knows the passion of our fans. As we enhance our sales and service culture, he will be a leader and great teammate.”

Hall began his career in professional sports as the Inside Sales Representative for the Charlotte Knights, a minor league baseball team affiliated with the Chicago White Sox in Charlotte, N.C. In his role, he sold ticket packages, including season tickets, partial plans, and group tickets.

“I am grateful for this exciting new opportunity to work with Dennis Bickmeier, Mike Waddell and the staff at Richmond International Raceway,” said Hall. “Growing up in the shadows of Charlotte Motor Speedway, it is thrilling that the next step in my career will be in NASCAR. My family looks forward to returning east to Richmond and becoming a part of the community. We are excited for the opportunity to support RIR’s vision to provide an outstanding fan experience for Richmond Nation.”

A native of Concord, N.C., Hall received his MBA with a marketing concentration and a bachelor of science in sports management from Wingate University in Wingate, N.C.

Hall and his wife, Ashlee, have three children, Rylee (6), Makenzee (4), and James III (4).

Hall will join the RIR leadership team on Monday as the staff continues preparations for the 2017 season. NASCAR returns to Richmond April 28-30 and September 8-9 for two weekends of action. Season ticket renewals for the 2017 season will be sent to our loyal fans in the coming weeks. On sale dates for tickets will be announced soon.
