Modified Twin 50s + Jennifer Flanagan Kutz Memorial 42 for Late Models this Saturday at Mahoning Valley Speedway

Mahoning Valley Speedway will open up the final month of racing with a big night of stock car racing that will be headlined by Modified Twin 50s. Plus the speedway will present a very special Late Model feature with the running of the Jennifer Flanagan Kutz Memorial 42.

Also in action will be the Street Stocks, Dirt Mods, Pro 4s and Hobby Stocks.

The Modified Twin 50s will be individual point paying races plus it is the final tune-up to the big season ending Octoberfast 150 on October 22.

Just over a year ago the racing community was shocked with the untimely passing of Jennifer Flanagan Kutz while giving birth to daughter Annika.

Now through the great efforts of her family and friends and the support of Mahoning Valley Speedway, the first Jennifer Flanagan Kutz Memorial 42 will be run. The family is currently taking lap money for the race which thus far has been doing very well.

According to Nancy Kutz, Jennifer’s mom, there has been a tremendous amount of backing in terms of lap money and she assures that the cash will be distributed correspondingly throughout the field so that everyone will get to share in the pot.

The race will be checkered at lap 40 and then the field will form a single file and parade under caution for the final two laps. 42 is the signature number of the Kutz team and was always on the side of Jennifer’s cars throughout her career. Lap money will be collected right up until the green flag drops for the race.

The Dirt Mods and Pro 4s will see titles decided as well with this being their last week for the season. All others will be at Octoberfast which carries a 100 point show-up bonus.

At intermission there will be a Little Tykes Power Wheel Demo Derby. This was a huge hit when held a few weeks ago. A big thanks goes to Mahoning Valley Speedway Kids Coordinator Karen Bortz for once again stepping up to bring the event together. Brown Daub Kia/Kutz Racing will sponsor the event.

Main gates open at 4:00 pm with racing starting at 6:00. Adult general admission is $22. There is a $2 discount for students, seniors 65+ and active Military. Early paid practice starts at 12:30.

This Saturday is also the final day to pre-register for the October 8 Enduros. A Small Car Enduro and Jr. Car Enduro will take place that day that will be the highest paying Enduro in track history. If 80 or more car are signed in on race day the top prize will be a record $2000-to-win.

If 70 cars are present then the first place earnings will be $1500, also a record amount. That same payout will also be offered to the winner of the Jr. Enduro race which runs that same day.

Everyone who pre-enters saves $10 on registration which is $40 and includes the transponder. Afterwards it is $50. Starting line-ups will be determined by registration. There will be a limit of 100 cars. October 8 Enduro entry forms are available on the Mahoning Valley Speedway website.
