‘Chase University’ College Student Program Set for Talladega Superspeedway Sunday, Oct. 23

Chase Elliott, driver for Hendrick Motorsports in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS), turned a lot of heads at Talladega Superspeedway earlier this year when the rookie driver captured the pole position for the GEICO 500 in his first NSCS attempt at the 2.66-mile venue. When he returns to NASCAR’s biggest and baddest track for the Alabama 500 on Oct. 23, college students will be able to be a part of Chase University and experience some fun, incredible perks for the much anticipated weekend.

Elliott, a second-generation driver, is scheduled to take a stroll through Talladega Superspeedway’s special “Chase U College Zone” in the North Park Campground to mix and mingle (and hand out special TSS & Chase U goodies) with college students prior to the start of the Alabama 500.

“There aren’t many tracks that know how to throw a party as well as Talladega,” said Elliott, who drove his No. 24 NAPA AUTO PARTS Chevrolet SS to a fifth-place finish in May at Talladega after leading three times for 27 laps. “This program is about creating a great at-track experience at an affordable price for college students. It’s hard to top what Talladega has put together here by including three days of entertainment in this package. It really is an awesome weekend experience.”

Talladega Superspeedway is a special place for Elliott, whose father, NASCAR Hall of Famer Bill Elliott, won twice on the 33-degree banked track and set the fastest-ever NASCAR official qualifying mark of 212.809 mph in 1987. Now Chase Elliott, the popular newcomer to the NSCS, hopes to make his mark on Talladega. The 2016 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup qualifier and leading Rookie of the Year contender grew up just a short drive from Talladega in Dawsonville, GA.

In addition to the possibility of meeting Chase, the 20-year-old rising star, in the College Campus of North Park, the $24 Chase University College ticket offer for the Alabama 500 includes a weekend full of special activities:

  • Free Camping/Parking for tailgating in the Chase U College Zone of GEICO North Park

Talladega Superspeedway’s College Ticket program continues to flourish. Just take a stroll around the track’s campgrounds and one will see that collegiate spirit flies high in support of many universities. The facility is a haven for young people to watch an incredible race and have a great time.

College students, you can’t plan a weekend trip anywhere for under $24 except at NASCAR’s Most Competitive track—Talladega Superspeedway. Party on!
