Pocono Raceway’s Fifth Annual Poker Tournament Hits Milestone

The fifth annual Pocono Raceway Poker Tournament presented by Fastrack Construction, benefitting The NASCAR Foundation and Philadelphia-based Michael’s Way, hit a milestone by raising the most money ever at the event. The tournament, held at Mohegan Sun Pocono in Wilkes Barre, Pa., raised a record total $85,858.

“We are really excited about this amazing achievement at the Poker Tournament. This year we raised more money than any of the past years and it is all going towards the children battling cancer and two remarkable charities,” said Pocono Raceway President & CEO Brandon Igdalsky. “We have always had a great relationship with Michael’s Way and The NASCAR Foundation and we are thrilled that we reached and surpassed our goal.”

The proceeds from this tournament will be mutually split by The NASCAR Foundation and Michael’s Way.

Said Executive Director of The NASCAR Foundation Lorene King, “With the help of all of our sponsors, media, and participants we exceeded $80,000 to benefit children who are being serve by programs from Michael’s Way and The NASCAR Foundation. We are so grateful to have the support of Mohegan Sun Pocono and Pocono Raceway. We are overwhelmed by the money raised during this year’s tournament and we can’t wait for next years’ charity poker tournament.

“It is truly overwhelming. This is the first time Michaels Way was involved with this event and we can’t thank Pocono Raceway, The NASCAR Foundation, and everyone else who participated for making tonight a booming success,” said Chris McElwee, Founder of Michael’s Way.
