MIR Partners with Morris Marketing Group

Gearing up for a season of big events through the summer and fall Memphis International Raceway announced today a partnership with Morris Marketing Group, a Memphis-based, full-service marketing firm with proven experience in sports and entertainment marketing.

“The Memphis International Raceway is a great asset to the Memphis area that we think most mid-southerners are not aware of. While our events are focused on motorsports we work hard to also make them family friendly by providing elements the whole family will enjoy. We know that Morris Marketing Group will be a great partner to oversee and help facilitate our holistic marketing efforts as we look to increase awareness and build excitement for them,” said Pam Kendrick, President, Memphis International Raceway.

Morris Marketing Group will lean on their years of experience marketing, promoting, and working with media with organizations and events such as: The Memphis Open; West Fight On: Cycle. Run. Walk.; the World Series of Poker; Harrah’s, Horseshoe, and Tunica Roadhouse Casinos in Tunica, Miss.; Smokin’ Aces BBQ Contest; Memphis in May; and other various community events and nonprofit organizations.

“We look forward to the opportunity to build excitement and inform mid-southerners about Memphis International Raceway and their upcoming events including the World Series of Drag Racing, a one-of-a-kind, top-tier sporting event that really engages motorsports fans with one-on-one interactions with drivers, cars, and crew from the moment they enter the gates,” said Valerie Morris, President, Morris Marketing Group.

The World Series of Drag Racing is one of the major events Morris Marketing Group will be focusing efforts on. The World Series of Drag Racing is the longest running drag racing event in America and has taken place in Cordova, Illinois for the past 62 years. Earlier this year, Memphis International Raceway, owned and operated by IRG Sports + Entertainment Company, along with major sponsors Sunoco and the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau announced the event would be moving to Memphis International Raceway August 26-27 of this year for it’s 63rd anniversary.

The World Series of Drag Racing is two days of non-stop drag racing action including professional racers from around the country as well as local sportsman racers all competing to become the next champion of the World Series of Drag Racing presented by Sunoco and the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau. The World Series of Drag Racing will include events for the whole family including a kid zone, a festival of food options, meet and greets with autograph sessions, and a fireworks show Friday and Saturday night.

World Series of Drag Racing tickets range from $25 to $63 for a two-day pass and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com at this link: http://bit.ly/WSOD2016.
