Bristol Motor Speedway showcasing Colossus TV prior to Bass Pror Shop NRA Night Race with July 6 movie night

When Colossus TV debuted during April’s Food City 500 weekend, it was a massive hit as positive reviews quickly spread about the structure’s impressive video and audio capabilities that enhanced the race experience at The Last Great Colosseum.

The next chance for Bristol fans to see the world’s largest, outdoor, center-hung video display will come during August’s Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race week. But for members of the Tri-Cities community, Bristol Motor Speedway is opening its gates for a special event.

On Wednesday, July 6, Colossus TV will host a family movie night featuring the Dreamworks movie Turbo. The event will feature pre-movie activities including inflatables and interactive games. The Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race Chevrolet Camaro pace car will be on display as will the iconic BMS trophy given to the winner of NASCAR events.

“We want to give the local community the opportunity to experience the power of Colossus TV through a fun-filled family night at the track,” said Jerry Caldwell, executive vice president and general manager of Bristol Motor Speedway. “With the highest viewing quality of any outdoor permanent display in the world and a crystal clear 485-speaker sound system, it will bring Turbo to life in a whole new way that folks won’t want to miss this special event.”

Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. with the movie scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Turbo is a story of a loveable garden snail who yearns to escape the slow and cautious community he comes from and pursues a dream of being the greatest racer in the world. Turbo, which features the voice talents of Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti and Maya Rudolph among others, is rated PG and was released in July 2013.

Entry to the movie night is free. All seating for the movie will be located on the backstretch of Bristol Motor Speedway. Guests are encouraged to bring their own coolers to the venue. In addition, concessions will be open selling snack foods and drinks. In celebration of the previous Monday being July 4, the movie night will be capped off with a small fireworks display.

Tickets for the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race are still available by visiting www.BristolTix.com or calling (855) 580-5525. Tickets start at just $74.
