Kingsport Speedway to celebrate Independence Day with Fireworks, Fan Appreciation

Kingsport Speedway is set to host a huge night of racing to kick off the Fourth of July weekend this Friday, July 1.

WQUT Fan Appreciation Night will feature the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model Stock Car division in action for a 75-lap, $1,100-to-win race.

Quickly becoming a fan favorite this season has been the Pure 4 division. With 19 or more cars in attendance at each event this season, fans have been asking to see more of the four-cylinder powerhouses. And that is exactly what they are getting Friday night, with Catch22 signing on for a 50-lap, $500-to-win Pure 4 feature.

Modified Street, Mod 4 and Pure Street divisions will also do battle on the concrete. Returning this season and performing their two-wheeled madness will be Warren Stunts.

Race fans will also enjoy Fan Appreciation this Friday. Drivers from all divisions will line their race cars up on the frontstretch for fans to come down, view the cars up-close and obtain autographs.

If racing and autographs weren’t enough, the night will close out with a spectacular fireworks display.

“We always have a great Fourth of July weekend show and this year is no different,” said Karen Tunnell, general manager. “It’s going to be a great night with over 200 laps of racing, autographs and fireworks.”

Grandstands open at 5:30 p.m., qualifying is at 7 p.m., fan appreciation is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and racing gets underway at 8 p.m. Adult admission is only $10 and children 12-and-under are admitted free. Tier parking along turns three and four is available for $10 per spot plus admission.
