Greenville-Pickens Speedway Makes Additions To 2016 Schedule

Greenville-Pickens Speedway Promoter Anthony Anders is excited to announce several additions to this season’s racing schedule.
The track’s limited late model division will now race two additional times this season, with shows now scheduled for July 16th, August 6th, September 10th and September 17th.

Two additional shows for the Mulligan Power Truck Series have been added as well, on July 23rd and the season finale’, October 22nd .

Greenville-Pickens welcomes two new attractions to the historic half-mile as well, as the Monster Truck Motornationals will make their debut on Saturday, July 30th, and the Bandit Big Rig Series rolls in on August 6th and October 22nd.

Anders believes the additions give the schedule some extra flavor.  “We wanted to have some variety for our fans this year,” he explained.  “It has taken us some time to work some things out, but we feel like the Monster Trucks and the Big Rigs are going to be fun and entertaining for us, and we wanted to add some shows for our limited late model and Mulligan Power Truck Series as well.”

The new look makes both August 6th and October 22nd into special nights of “Saturday Night Thunder” action.

On August 6th, fans can see the Bandit Big Rigs plus Twin 50’s for the late models, a 50-lap feature for limited late models plus super stocks, renegades, pure stocks and four-cylinders.

October 22nd is the season finale’.  The Southeast Limited Late Models will be in town for their second-to-last points race of the year, and will be joined by the Mulligan Power Truck Series, the Bandit Big Rigs, renegades and four-cylinders.

The K&N Pro Series East will also return to Greenville-Pickens on Labor Day Monday, September 6th.  Points leader Justin Haley battled local native Kyle Benjamin all the way through the series’ first race at Greenville in April before he finally came out on top for his first ever series win.

Benjamin, Spencer Davis, Tyler Dippel, Harrison Burton and many others will be looking to deny Haley the season sweep when the series returns on Labor Day.

Don’t forget this weekend’s CARS Tour “LeftturnsAndSideburns.com 200” featuring the touring series late model stock and super late model divisions. Over 50 cars are expected to be in competition between the two classes.

Popular Greenville-Pickens limited late model standout Colby “The Kid” Howard will make his late model stock debut driving his father’s No. 16 machine this weekend.

Gates open at 4pm with racing getting underway at 7:30pm.  For more information about the CARS Tour, visit their website at www.CarsRacingTour.com.
