Evergreen Raceway Announces “Independence Enduros”

Drivers and race fans in general have enjoyed the 2016 racing season at Evergreen Raceway thus far. When it was announced that the speedway was hosting “Independence Enduros’, its fourth Enduro event of the season, they wasted no time to help spread the word. The event is slated to take place rain or shine on Sunday, July 3rd.

Much like the previous Enduros this season, the 4-cylinder and 6/8-cylinders will take to the 1/3-mile asphalt oval for 100-laps of action and Open Competition cars will showcase their rides in a 30-lap showdown. New for this event is the ‘Redneck Reverse Enduro’, where drivers will compete for five laps while driving around the speedway in the proper direction. Well, with the only exception being that the cars will be racing in reverse. Regular 4-cylinder and 6/8-cylinder Enduro cars will race in the same event and the fee to participate in this race is $10. The pay will be “winner take all” for 10 cars or less starting and if 11 or more start the winner will receive what first place prize pays for a regular Enduro event.

It’s unlikely that it will happen for this event, but if any divisions surpass 100 or more registrants, that division will have two separate 100-lap shows and the two winners will then compete for the overall victory and a $100 bonus in a 10-lap ‘Dash for Cash’ race.

The track is hosting a $10 discount for pre-registration. The form is on the speedway website and must be mailed in, along with the $40 pre-registration fee. The top 20 drivers in the 4-Cylinder and 6/8-cylinder divisions will redraw for starting spots within the top 20 on race day. All drivers beyond 21st will start the event as they register, so if driver X is the 25th to send in his or her registration, they will 25th in their Enduro event. Drivers may also register at the track the day of the event for $50, and they will start behind the pre-registered drivers. The transponder rental fee is $10 and pit admission is set at $25. The pit gates will swing open at 10:00 AM.

All of the rules, info and the pre-registered drivers are listed on the speedway website.

Children 12 years of age and younger are not allowed in the pit area until the races conclude.

The grandstands are slated to open at 12 noon and grandstand admission is just $5. Children 10 years of age and younger will be admitted for FREE.

The speedway has more Enduros in the planning, which are expected to take place in September and October.

The green flag is set to drop for the first event at 1 PM. For more information on Evergreen Raceway, including rules, directions, contacts and the 2016 regular season schedule, visit www.evergreenracewaypark.com. Please like their Facebook page as well.
