TMS providing support for Dorian Murray, #DSTRONG Movement

Dorian Murray, an eight-year-old boy from Westerly, R.I., waging a courageous battle with terminal cancer, had one wish in his final weeks: He wants to be famous.

His battle with a rare form of pediatric cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma since he was four years old has gone viral with the hashtag #DStrong to help him achieve his wish of becoming famous. The story of #DStrong started earlier this month when the family learned his cancer was terminal and they decided to stop treatment so their son could go home.

While home, Dorian posed this question to his father: “Hey dad, you know what I really want before I go to heaven? I would like to be famous in China… because that’s where they have the bridge (The Great Wall of China).”

A week later, the family revealed Dorian’s wish by posting it on Facebook. They asked for people to share photos with Dorian using the hashtag #DStrong. His wish went viral and his #DStrong hashtag has been used around the world by people sending support to the brave child, including at The Great Wall of China.

Texas Motor Speedway may not be able to get Dorian on the silver screen for his wish, but the speedway did have the ability to feature him on the world’s largest screen. Enter the Guinness World record-holding “Big Hoss,” the world’s largest HD TV screen, to help fulfill his wish.

The speedway utilized the black-and-white photograph provided by Robyn Ivy depicting Dorian with boxing gloves and added #DStrong as its tribute to him. Dorian stood 10 stories tall on the video board that is nearly a half-acre in size.
