AJ Hyatt Returns To Victory Lane At Dillon Motor Speedway

On Saturday, July 25, Dillon Motor Speedway hosted the Late Models, Super Trucks, Chargers, Street Stocks Four Cylinder Stocks and the Mini Cup Stocks in the Positive Automotive 200.

For the first time this season, AJ Hyatt went to Victory Lane in the Street Stock division after a dominating performance.  Hyatt was able to hold off Ricky Locklair Jr., as well as Wayne Locklair for the win. Michael Klein, who’s the jackman for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver, AJ Allmendinger took a brief break from Indianapolis Motor Speedway to compete in this past weekend’s event at Dillon Motor Speedway. Before returning back to the Brickyard on Sunday, Klein finished fourth in Dillon. Justin Altman finished in fifth.

In the Late Model feature, it was Greg Peterson returning to Victory Lane. In the closing laps, he was able to outrun runner-up finisher Tim Allensworth, as well as BJ Mackey, who has multiple wins at the speedway this season. Justin Hicks and Averitt Lucas rounded out the top-five.

Clay Thomas led all 50 laps to win the Pee Dee Coastal Super Truck Series feature. Hal Goodson finished second, and Bryan Blackwell rounded out the top-three. Bill Hogan and Jake VunCannon finished fourth and fifth respectively. The Pee Dee Coastal Super Truck Series is set to return to the speedway on Saturday, August 29.

Brian Owens topped Ben Watford to claim victory in the Charger feature. Tommy Lilly finished third, followed by Brent Williamson.

Kris Hetu held off Bailey Miles in an epic finish during the Four Cylinder Stock feature. The two drivers put on a fantastic show for the fans. Travis Altman, Jake Fitzgerald and Kayla Dean rounded out the top-five.

Eric Coomes took the checkered flag in the Mini Cup Stock feature. Andy Lombi was right on Coomes’ back bumper in the closing laps, but he had to settle for a runner-up finish. Thomas Heavey finished third.

Up next on the schedule for Dillon Motor Speedway is the Budweiser 200 on Saturday, August 8. Late Models, Chargers, Street Stocks, Four Cylinder Stocks and Mini Cup Stocks will be competing. The event will feature a special ticket pricing of $10. Kids 11 –years old and younger enter the grandstands for free. Gates will open at 2 p.m. Practice will begin at 4 p.m., followed by qualifying. The race is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
