Gateway Motorsports Park Brings the Opportunity of a Lifetime to St. Louis Motorsports Fans with the Skip Barber School of Racing

Who hasn’t dreamed at one point in their lives of becoming a race car driver? Experiencing the insane g-forces of sharp turns and the adrenaline rush of whipping the pants of your competitors. The closest most of us get in our lifetime is smoking the person next to use at a red light as we approach a single-lane merge.

Today, the officials from Gateway Motorsports Park are about to make thousands of dreamers rethink their future as Gateway Motorsports Park announces the addition of the Skip Barber Racing School to the 2015 schedule.  Skip Barber Racing School is the largest professional motorsports education company in the United States. It will debut in St. Louis on September 4-6, 2015.

“The Skip Barber Racing School will quickly become one of the highlights of our 2015 road course schedule,” says Chris Blair, Gateway Motorsports Park Executive Vice President and General Manager.  “Some of the greatest drivers in racing have honed their skills at Skip Barber Racing School, and we’re excited to offer this great program to racing enthusiasts in the St. Louis area.”

Skip Barber Racing School will offer both their Introduction to Racing and Three-Day Racing School programs at Gateway Motorsports Park.  Both programs will utilize the Gateway Motorsports Park special events area and the 1.6 mile road course that is known as the Circuit of St. Louis.

The Introduction to racing program is the easiest way to hop in the driver’s seat of a formula car and sample the world of Skip Barber Racing. The Three Hour Intro to Racing curriculum will teach participants the fundamentals of professional racing then head to the race track to experience Formula Skip Barber 2000 cars. The Three Day Racing School is every driver’s gateway to motorsports and racing. This is a prerequisite for racers interested in obtaining a club, professional or international racing license. This program is based upon the original program designed by former Formula One driver John “Skip” Barber. One in three professional racecar drivers in motorsports is a Three Day Racing School graduate. So whether you want to be a pro, or just drive like one, it all starts with the Three Day Racing School.

“Our goal is to bring motorsports to more people across the country, and Gateway Motorsports Park is a fantastic addition to our schedule,” says Director of Operations Earle Hollings. “We can’t wait to share the Skip Barber Racing School experience to motorsports enthusiasts in the area.”
